What this is

GA Handyman Guide is an independent directory and comparison resource covering 117 handyman businesses across Georgia. It exists for homeowners who want a quick, honest way to compare local pros before picking up the phone: who covers your area, what they’re generally good at, and how they stack up against the competition down the street.

We also generate enquiries for local providers. When you ask to be matched with someone for a job, we pass your request along to providers relevant to your request, and we may receive a referral fee for that introduction. That’s part of how this directory stays free to use. It’s disclosed again on the quote page itself, and it never touches how a business is scored or ranked. Those two things, earned rankings and referral arrangements, are kept completely separate on purpose.

Who runs it

This directory is published by Duluth Johns Creek Pros, a local outfit that’s been connecting homeowners in Duluth and Johns Creek with vetted handymen and service pros since 2026. The focus has always been quality and reliability over volume: making it simpler for residents to find someone who’ll actually show up and do the job right, whether it’s a repair, routine maintenance, or a bigger improvement project. Publishing this statewide guide is an extension of that same mission, just with a wider lens.

Editorial oversight sits with Shawn Dobanton, Managing Editor, who maintains the rankings and the rubric behind them.

How listings get here

Every business on this site comes from public business data, things like service area, years operating, licensing status, and categories offered. We also synthesize recent Google reviews to understand overall sentiment and recurring themes. We do not republish review text. Instead, we summarize what we find and link straight back to the business’s Google listing so you can read the original reviews yourself.

How rankings work

Rankings are earned. They come entirely from a published rubric applied consistently to the data and review sentiment we collect. There’s no pay-to-rank option and no upsell path that changes a score. Full details on how the rubric weighs factors like review sentiment, responsiveness signals, and service consistency are laid out on our /methodology/ page.

A listed business can request corrections to its own factual details (address, hours, services, phone number, that sort of thing). What it cannot do is edit its own score, its sentiment summary, or its position in the rankings. Those stay under editorial control.

Sponsorship, when it appears

Some pages may include sponsored placements. These are always labeled “Sponsored,” displayed in a separate section from the earned rankings, and never allowed to move or replace a business’s ranked position. We don’t sell placement in the rankings themselves, full stop.

Staying current

Data across the directory is refreshed monthly. Individual listings carry a “last verified” stamp so you can see at a glance when we last confirmed the details, rather than assuming everything on the internet is current.
